You booked your session! Now what? It's time to get your wardrobe together!
Whether it is for a summer, fall or holiday session, I always have the same starting point - Choose one person's outfit and build everything else around that. I usually suggest the first outfit having some type of print and then pulling colors from the print to incorporate into the rest of the outfits.
- Plan. Don't wait until the last minute to figure your wardrobe out and to try it on. You'll end up rushing, stressing and probably having to settle.
- Coordinate, but don't match. Do wear a print, but do not put everyone in the same print. Everyone should not be in the same print nor should everyone have jeans on.
- Dress for the season and location. You want your images to make sense! If you're shooting outside in November, you shouldn't plan on anyone being in short sleeves, shorts or skirts.
- Don't be afraid of texture and layers! Jackets, scarves, hats, and vests can be a great way to add some versatility to your photos.
Some of my favorite places to shop are Amazon, Target, Old Navy, Vici and Lulus. I don't like to spend a fortune on my wardrobe, so these are all bargain options! I've put together (and taken from the internet) a few outfit ideas that are perfect for holiday sessions!
